Norwegian Green Team  🌱

The Norwegian Olympic and Paralympic Committee and Confederation of Sports (NIF) is an umbrella organisation which organises all national sports federations in Norway. NIF has around 1.900.000 memberships and consists of 55 national federations, 12 regional confederations, app. 328 sports councils and 9454 clubs.

In 2022 NIF launched their sustainability strategy and obliged to actions related to climate and the environment. Sport in Norway wants to lead the way in terms of green transition. The concept Green Team (Norwegian: Grønt Lag) was developed in 2023 to make it easier to operate strategically and practically sustainability work at all levels within sport.
The Power of Sports
Sport engages billions of people all over the world, and is Norway's largest volunteer motion. We move people, move Norway, create ripple effects, and createsustainability! NIF shall base our activities on environmental considerations and contribute to thatthe national climate and environmental targets are met. As an umbrella organisation, we want to support the whole Norwegian sport in this and the slogan "The power of all" was developed (Norwegian: "Kraften av alle").
Doing sports in itself has a very positive impact on people's lives. We must be conscious of how we can reinforce the positive effects of sport, while addressing and reducing our negative impact on people and the environment. The sport, which is practiced and delivered across the country every day, can become an even stronger contributor to sustainable development. Our ambition is to create ripple effects andsustainability enthusiasm for the rest of Norwegian sports.

Green Team meets the world's green sustainability goals with concrete measures designed for Norway's largest voluntary movement - Sport. By sharing inspiration, knowledge and tools, we can do sport today in a way that ensures sporting joy forever. In the work to create new opportunities, we are all on the same team, regardless of whether you are an athlete or a volunteer, a team player or an individualist, an employee or support player, a national team player or a beginner, inside or outside, young or old. Most important target group are the passionate people in sports: those who lead and runs the organisations, as well as the athletes and collaboration partners.
Visual identity and illustrations
The logo is set in Green Team's profile font in italic, but tilted so that the lines are straight as a reference the two-degree target, and the Paris Agreement's central aim is to strengthen the global response to the threat of climate change. The images meet at an intersection that is also tilted 2 degrees. This is a reference to the logo and the italics the headlines. The grip can be used both horizontally and vertically, and can used for both still photos and video. The shapes themselves create direction and movement when used statically. And gives a smaller one controlled expression than the slanted ones the photographs provide. The logo creates a pattern that becomes Green Team its icon. The icon is detached from the logo and can used separated.
Three secondary colors are also part of the palette Green Team, to give a colourful, playful impression and for to be able to give variety to the content. The secondary colors purple, orange and yellow should be used on exactly the same way like the color green. A profile carrier has been defined and developed illustration style by the illustrator Maia Aarstad.
